How Long Does It Take to Grow Mushrooms?

Your growing journey begins as soon as you introduce your liquid culture to the bag. Depending on your genetics and environmental conditions, you may notice the first signs of mycelial growth within 2–7 days.

As the mycelium spreads throughout the grain, you’ll eventually reach the next stage of the process. Once the grains are approximately 40% colonized, you can perform a break and shake to distribute the developing mycelium throughout the grain. This helps accelerate colonization and prepares your grow bag for the next stage.

Under suitable conditions, the entire process can take approximately 1–2 months from inoculation to harvest, depending on the mushroom species, genetics, and growing environment.
